The Snowy Day – Sandbox Series

The Snowy Day – Sandbox Series

A fresh snowfall. A world of possibilities! Inspired by Ezra Jack Keats’s beloved picture book, The Snowy Day is a playful, 30-minute immersive theatre experience designed especially for our youngest audiences and their caregivers.

Through imaginative storytelling, creative movement, music, and games, families will explore the wonder of a neighborhood transformed by snow. Children will follow snowy footprints, imagine new ways to play, and discover how an ordinary day can become an extraordinary adventure.

Interactive Experience

Young audience members become part of the snowy exploration! Children are invited to crunch through imaginary snow, make playful tracks, stretch into snow angels, and help bring a winter landscape to life. Each interactive moment encourages curiosity, creativity, and discovery.

Pre-show Exploration

Before the performance, families can explore hands-on activity stations featuring snowflake crafts, snowy-day artwork, and footprint-inspired matching games.

Learning Through Play

The experience supports early literacy, vocabulary development, sequencing, and observation skills. Through storytelling and participation, children practice describing sounds and movements, making predictions, and recalling key moments while exploring themes of curiosity, discovery, and the joy of everyday experiences.

Join us for a winter-inspired theatrical adventure filled with imagination, wonder, and snowy-day fun!
