Description 

Unleash your creativity in Puppet Makers, a hands-on class for those ready to explore puppetry! Open to all skill levels, this course invites students ages 9–15 to build and perform with a variety of puppets, from classic shadow and finger puppets to hand puppets and imaginative creations using socks, felt, yarn, popsicle sticks, and more. Each session mixes crafty construction with storytelling and performance, encouraging students to invent characters, write scenes, and bring their puppets to life on stage. Whether you’re a budding artist, performer, or storyteller, Puppet Makers offers a world of creativity and fun!

Instructor: Kate Shively (she/her)

Kate is originally from Oak Park, IL and graduated from Baldwin-Wallace University Conservatory of Music. Her favorite local credits include Mother in Ragtime at the JCC and singing in the a capella group, 6-1-Forte. She spent four years teaching preschool. Kate is glad to returning to Academy for a third year! 

*Participants must be the appropriate age by the start of classes by January 23rd

**If a class is canceled by CCT or the instructor, March 6th will serve as the makeup day.

Cancellation Policy:

• Cancel 4+ weeks before start date: full refund less $25 fee.
• Cancel 2–4 weeks before start date: refund less $45 fee.
• Cancel 3 days–2 weeks before start date: account credit less $45 fee.
• Cancel within 3 days: no refund or credit due to limited enrollment capacity.

All classes require a minimum number of students to run. CCT reserves the right to cancel classes with low enrollment. If CCT cancels, a full refund will be issued.
